Welcome – nice to meet you!

I’m Sara (that’s me in the video above) and if you’re anything like I used to be you feel like, between family and work and everything else, you just don’t have the time to get your home and life organised let alone stay on top of those growing piles of stuff.

If that sounds familiar, you’re in the right place because I used to say the very same thing.

And you know what? I’m not the neatest, tidiest person in the world. That’s OK, I admit it! I’m an erratic thinker to begin with and spent over 20 years bouncing between work and fun, family and friends, study and international travel.

That’s a great way to let things pile up until they get on top of you. And get on top of me they did… before long half of the old treasures got forgotten under the new ones. I started ignoring the problem while it grew, because hey, it wasn’t that bad… right? Most of the clutter was mind clutter – holding onto keepsakes from my departed father – and once I got past that I knew I needed to take action to hold onto my real treasures and clear the clutter around them.

About Sara Hall

Looking back, it was ridiculous not to start decluttering my life years sooner. But it’s easy to say that now. Back then, I didn’t even know where to start. See, I was raised to “save it for a rainy day”. You know, just in case.

Which can be a smart thing to do… but:

Because I wasn’t organised, I became overwhelmed.

Don’t worry! There is a happy ending, and even if it seems far-off or tough to achieve – it isn’t! At first I thought organising your home and life was all about being neat. Luckily it’s not, because that’s a pretty big hurdle for an erratic mind to conquer.

Then I thought maybe I needed to literally get rid of all the treasures and keepsakes I’d accumulated over the years. To let it go.

But that seemed way too painful. I didn’t want to do it.

I knew something had to be done – I was, misplacing things, slowly (okay, quickly) accumulating drawers, cupboards, and boxes full of stuff I didn’t need or use, and stressing over all of them.

Enough was enough.

I began studying professional organising strategies for home and life. I met with accomplished guides, attended seminars, even brought on a coach to help me identify more effective ways to declutter my life.

And it turns out the Big Spring Clean is actually a counterproductive tactic
(I bet you’re as happy to hear that as I was)!

That spring clean just gives you an excuse to make work for yourself; to let stuff pile on top of you over the year, working against you until it feels overwhelming again, instead of putting a smart system to work for you.

Long story short? I put what I discovered into action immediately and it changed my life for the better. Now I have lots of time to enjoy and a lot less stress digging at the back of my mind.

Organising your home can be simple, fast, and fun – I’m walking proof. I learned the secrets and solutions the professionals use to keep their homes and lives flowing smoothly, and they work wonders.

Today, I’m a professional organiser myself.

Since 2007, I’ve helped hundreds of families and professionals take control of their hectic live through media features, live events & workshops, one-on-one support, and video training programs.

Welcome to The Organising School – you’re about to change your life forever.
